Petit Planet currencies and what to spend first

Petit Planet uses a small handful of currencies, but each one has a different job. Spending Dough on furniture when you need a house upgrade — or Loomi on a hat when you need anchors — is the fastest way to feel stuck.

Spending priority

  • Early game: farming tools, a few seeds and a Star Anchor stockpile.
  • Mid game: Luca Arbor upgrades and neighbor capacity before cosmetic furniture.
  • Late game: high-score furniture for House Rating, then outfit sets.
  • Always keep a small Dough buffer for shop rotations and house upgrades.
  • Do not convert rare event materials into common currency unless you have a duplicate.

Common currency mistakes

The most common mistake is treating Dough as infinite because the early quests are generous. House upgrades cost thousands, and the Charming Cottage alone is 5,000 Dough plus a 350 House Rating requirement.

The second mistake is ignoring Loomi because it does not look like “real” money. Star Anchors are the gateway to new neighbors and rare creatures; skipping them slows every collection track.
