On this page

Petit Planet is a cross-platform free-to-play game, but “cross-platform” does not mean every device will run it well. The Final Beta gives us a useful PC target and a rough storage estimate for mobile. Here is what is confirmed, what is still unofficial and what to check before launch.

PC requirements (Final Beta)

The Final Beta recommended:

ComponentRecommended
OSWindows 10 or later (64-bit)
CPUIntel Core i5-11th Gen or AMD Ryzen 5 5000 series
GPUNVIDIA RTX 2060 or AMD RX 5600 XT
RAM16 GB
Storage20 GB recommended (the Final Beta client was about 18 GB)

HoYoverse has not published a separate minimum tier. That means the recommended spec is the only official guidance we have; a lower-spec PC may run the game, but it is not confirmed. If your machine is close to the recommended spec, free up storage and update your GPU drivers before launch.

The game requires a constant internet connection, even when you are playing alone. Plan for that if you are used to offline life sims.

The game is not sold on Steam, so there is no Steam-published requirements page to cross-check. Use the official HoYoverse download when it becomes available.

Mobile requirements

Petit Planet is confirmed for iOS and Android, but the final mobile requirements have not been published in a single official table. The Final Beta download was reported at roughly 10 GB on iOS, with Android sizes varying by device and content.

A practical checklist before launch:

  • A 64-bit device with a recent OS update.
  • At least 12–15 GB of free storage.
  • A stable Wi-Fi connection for the initial download.
  • Enough battery for a long first install.
  • No reliance on an emulator unless you are comfortable with unofficial performance.

If you play on an older phone, wait for the official store listing to show compatibility. Do not pre-order a device or a key from a third party based on beta hearsay.

Console and handheld status

There is no confirmed Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PS5 or Xbox version. HoYoverse says additional platforms are in development, which is not the same as an announcement.

The Steam Deck is a special case: because there is no Steam version, there is no official Steam Deck build. A Windows handheld may run the PC client, but controls, performance and anti-cheat behavior are unverified. Treat it as an experiment, not a supported platform.

Download size and installation tips

  • Install on an SSD if possible; the open-world streaming benefits from faster storage.
  • Close background apps before the first launch.
  • Use a wired connection for the PC download if your Wi-Fi is unstable.
  • Keep 10–15% of the drive free after installation for patches.
  • Do not download “pre-loaded” clients from unofficial mirrors.

Will the launch build be heavier?

Probably a little. Beta builds are often smaller than the launch client because they omit localization, cinematics or high-resolution assets. The 18 GB PC estimate is a good baseline, not a guarantee. Plan for 20–25 GB of free space if you can.

What to check on launch day

  1. The official HoYoverse site for the download link.
  2. Your store region for the mobile listing.
  3. GPU driver updates for PC.
  4. Free storage on the target drive.
  5. The official FAQ for any last-minute spec changes.

A note on performance

Petit Planet is a cozy game, but it still renders a lot of foliage, characters, weather and particle effects. The recommended RTX 2060 target suggests a mid-range gaming PC is the intended experience. A laptop with integrated graphics may run the game at low settings, but it is not the target.

If you are upgrading for launch, prioritize RAM and SSD space before a higher-tier GPU. The game is more likely to be limited by memory and storage than by raw frame rate.

A note on spoilers & updates: This page is written for the global version of Petit Planet and may include pre-launch and beta details. Game systems can change before the Winter 2026 release. Facts are checked against the official site and the community-maintainedPetit Planet Wiki.
